"The Man with the Squeaky Shoes" is an unproduced script for a television spy mystery that Sondheim wrote in 1953. He wrote the script with Jack Lemmon in mind. It was one of the scripts that Sondheim showed to George Oppenheimer to get the job writing scripts for "Topper".

Assassins is about how society interprets the American Dream, marginalizes outsiders and rewrites and sanitizes its collective history. "Something Just Broke" is a major distraction and plays like an afterthought, shoe horned simply to appease.
